Comit\u00e9 Fran\u00e7ais des Industries du Pesage (CoFIP), a <\/span><b>prepackaged <\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is &#8220;a product [&#8230;] packaged, outside the presence of the purchaser, in packaging of any kind, covering it totally or partially in such a way that the quantity of product contained cannot be altered without opening or detectable alteration of the packaging, or detectable alteration of the product&#8221;.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre-packaged products can be of varying weights <\/span><b>variable <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><b>fixed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They are found in a wide range of industries, including  <\/span><b>chemical <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(household products, fertilizers, etc.), cosmetics <\/span><b>cosmetics <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(creams, perfumes, etc.), the <\/span><b>food industry <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(meats, vegetables, dairy products, etc.), pharmaceutical <\/span><b>pharmaceutical industry <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(medicines, etc.), as well as various industries such as <\/span><b>construction <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(bags of cement, lime, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pre-packaged products are subject to stringent regulations, which are sometimes difficult to understand. This regulation is based on the<\/span><b>Guide des bonnes pratiques concernant les modalit\u00e9s du contr\u00f4le m\u00e9trologique interne \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser par les emplisseurs et importateurs de produit pr\u00e9emball\u00e9s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;published by the Direction G\u00e9n\u00e9rale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la R\u00e9pression des Fraudes (DGCCRF).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In this article, we&#8217;ll look at how to ensure regulatory compliance with the DGCCRF guide for pre-packaged batches comply with regulations lie in the correct use of <\/span><b>metrology <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>control<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In this way, the instruments used must ensure batch conformity and produce  <\/span><b>exploitable statistics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to avoid non-conformities <\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metrology covers all measurement and interpretation techniques used to guarantee data accuracy. In an industrial context, this requires a high degree of traceability in order to control manufacturing processes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For pre-packaged products, <\/span><b>two main criteria are taken into account<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> : <\/span> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The average weight of the products in the batch must be greater than or equal to the nominal weight.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The batch must contain less than 2% of defective batches. A batch is considered defective when the contents are less than the advertised nominal quantity.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obtaining the <\/span><b>European &#8220;e&#8221; mark<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">  relates to Directive n\u00b076\/211 of January 20, 1976 on the making-up by weight or by volume of certain prepackaged products. This marking is not compulsory, but it is a guarantee of superior quality for the end customer.
